Best Practices
As a result of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) was created. The CFPB in turn place liability on any lending institution for the actions of any third party providers including settlement agents. In response to these rules and regulations The American Land Title Association (ALTA) has developed standards known as “ALTA Best Practices.” Rainier Title, LLC is pleased to announce our compliance with these Practices and Procedures!
Here are a few of the ways we have gone above and beyond industry requirements to protect you and your information:
- Secure website – Rainier Title Uses Encrypted Email to Secure all Non-Public Personal Information.
- Secure email – Much of today’s wire fraud starts in email. This is why any emails we send that contain private information are sent encrypted.
- Firewall – Call us overprotective, but our offices have a firewall as added security for all Internet traffic going in and coming out.
- Frequent backups – We frequently back up your data to prevent data loss in the event of a disaster.
- Clean-desk policy – It is company policy to lock up all files and paperwork each night.
