Experienced Escrow Assistant - Everett & Lynnwood

We are a 100% locally owned and operated Title and Escrow Company looking to hire a new team member for our very busy escrow department in our Everett and Lynnwood offices. We're looking for experienced escrow assistants who has experience in purchases, short sales and refinances. The ideal candidates must have a strong work ethic, good people skills and be comfortable with a paperless environment.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Process escrow files by receiving and completing forms for deposit in escrow accounts, transmitting escrow instructions and other documents to lender, preparing additional documents and escrow instructions as requested by the principals, real estate agents, and attorneys, and forwarding necessary documents and information to title officer.

 Closes escrow files by carrying out routine maintenance tasks such as receipting title insurance and recording fees from title officer and balancing file; drawing escrow closing statements showing debits and credits of parties involved; transmitting checks, closing statements, policies, etc. to the respective parties involved; maintaining follow-up necessary for completion of transactions and issuance of policy.

 Opens escrow files and sets up new files with appropriate information, obtaining necessary additional information from parties involved in transaction and preparing and transmitting escrow instructions to parties involved.

 Required Qualifications

Knowledge of the purpose and use of title insurance and of related services; of the purpose and terminology of legal instruments involved in escrow transactions; and in the insuring of title to real property.

 Ability to determine and prepare necessary forms to complete escrow transactions; to type forms accurately; to follow instructions; to make arithmetic computations; to meet and deal with the public effectively.

Education & Experience

High School Graduate or Equivalent - Courses in bookkeeping and mathematics desired.

Three years clerical experience related to escrow operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
